May the Message of God spread far and wide! I am extremely encouraged by the the perseverence exhibited by the present effort to further the Abodes existence as a sanctuary of the spirit indwelling. Having spent a goodly portion of my life in support of Pir Vilayat's vision I must continue to offer any and all assistance to that end.
All Love

I looked at (Friends of South Family) and think it is the right and best thing to do with the Abode property. It is being spearheaded by Akbar Scott who is someone I have known since the Abode days and worked with back then.

The idea of the Abode dissipating and no longer being physically there to visit, is jarring. It was built on noble intentions to enrich individuals, and, in so, humanity. That it can continue, as well, is not just a grace for individuals but for the light and goodness that uplifts what humans can be and do and inspire in others.

The four years I spent at the Abode will always stand out as some of my happiest times- I remember the feeling of having found my “home” the first time my husband and I visited the Abode in 1976. We stopped there last summer as we traveled through the area, and while there were just a few people living there, it still felt like a vital community and I sincerely hope it can continue. We need more places like this now more than ever.

Thank you for all your hard work to preserve Pir Vilayat's dream and spirit at the Abode. He was a free-spirit mystic who shared across language and continents the Oneness of diversified spirit forming a whole toward the evolution of humanity.

Dear ones at the Inayatiyya Order, how much I love all of you BUT I am so disappointed that you want to Sell the Abode. It’s very important for me to let you know that I stand with many of my ADODE friends in not allowing you to do this. Love and harmony, SULTANA
From Gina Noor Ariosto
I am saddened by the silence from the Inayati Order and hope that a mutual agreement will happen. I am not in a position to give financially but would be willing to help in labor or otherwise if I can. Toward a good solution! Love to all

I have been a “visitor “ of the Abode for the last 30 plus years…. I cannot imagine not having a place of worship there with its magical presence. For me Universal Worship has been an important and amazing experience particularly in the current space. I will support any future proposals that will allow the “abode” space to continue.
From Regina Walther
Great gratitude for my many years at the Abode & all that it gifted me. May its next unfoldment be a blessing to all, an honoring of the sacred manuscript of nature & the teachings of Murshid.
From Melissa Clare
I cast my vote for the newly formed nonprofit “Friends of South Family” to fulfill their purpose in taking over the management of this place and encouraging its potential into the future. I see that ongoing classes, Universal Worship, healing circles, retreats, as well as a variety of spiritual programs, celebrations and gatherings can still happen here and that the farm may still fulfill the original purpose of providing food during hard times. Climate Crisis is already here now and unfortunately Pir Vilayat’s sight, as outlined in the article by Puran Bair is painfully accurate though the timing may be a little different than we originally thought. The Abode Land may be a refuge, a sanctuary for wildlife, a place for humans to learn how to respectfully engage with Nature and how to get along with one another. A place where the voices from the past, as well as those of the future can be heard and honored.

The Abode is a sacred spot. “Inheriting" it from the Shakers and then infusing the land with our own Sufi brand of baraka makes it a most special place indeed. So now hearing that the Friends of South Family are trying to preserve that place of healing and blessing feels just great.

Dear Friends,
We are writing as people who love the Abode, and as people who love our beautiful world. Our children and grandchildren, and all our human family, are inheriting a planet in stress. You might think that this has nothing to do with the current questions regarding the Abode. To us they are deeply connected.

To the Inayatiyya Board
c/o Nur Amina Peterson, Chair
Dear Nur Amina,
We write with a full understanding of the need for the Inayatiyya to be free of the financial and managerial responsibility for the Abode of the Message. With this understanding, we feel that the proposal put forth to the Board by the Friends of South Family, would make this possible, and we wish to strongly endorse this proposal as put forth by Akbar Scott.
A Proposal from Akbar Scott on Pir Vilayat’s Birthday
Board president ~ Friends of South Family
Ms. Noor Amina Peterson
Chair, Inayatiyya Board
Dear Noor Amina:
As I am about to travel to the Abode for the Universal Worship Service celebrating Pir Vilayat’s 106 birthday, it seems a fitting time to present requests to the Board for consideration. I plan to share a copy of this letter with those who attend the Service.
First: A new charitable organization whose purposes are similar to those of the Abode of the Messeage, Inc. has been incorporated in New York State and I am a member of that organization. It was formed in hopes that the Abode can be maintained and improved as a place for spiritual seekers who will benefit from the Message. This corporation would like to be substituted for the Inayatiyya Order as the sole member of the Abode of the Message, Inc. so that the Inayatiyya Order can devote its energy and resources to its mission without any further responsibility for the Abode of The Message, Inc.
